Syed joined the company in March 2005 as General Manager and Vice President, Air Quality Instruments. He was promoted to President of Thermo Fisher China in January 2008, and one year later became President, Environmental Instruments. In October 2009, Syed was named Senior Vice President of Customer and Commercial Excellence. In 2010, he became President of Thermo Fisher’s Asian operations and Senior Vice President for Customer Excellence.
