Steve Albers is Novo Nordisk’s Corporate Vice President, Market Access. Mr. Albers leads the Market Access team and is responsible for securing formulary access with key payer customers for Novo Nordisk brands, helping to ensure that patients who need Novo Nordisk’s life-enhancing medicines are able to get them. The Market Access function at Novo Nordisk includes payer marketing, contract strategy, pricing and account management for all promoted and in-line brands. In his prior role as Vice President of Market Access National Accounts, Mr. Albers was crucial to building Novo Nordisk’s best in class National Accounts team and ensuring that each member of it embraces the Novo Nordisk Way. Mr. Albers has more than 20 years of experience within the medical and pharmaceutical industries. He joined Novo Nordisk in 2006 as District Business Manager in Minnesota and has continued to progress to increasing levels of responsibility in our Sales and Market Access organization, including spending almost 5 years in Novo Nordisk’s global headquarters in Denmark serving as Senior Global Marketing Director for Market Access before his promotion to Vice President of Global Market Access. Prior to coming to Novo Nordisk, Mr. Albers served as a regional account manager for Serono Inc., a biotechnology company that was acquired by Merck. Before that, he worked at Takeda Pharmaceuticals America in various sales and account management roles of increasing responsibility.
