Graduated in Bioinformatics by University of Minho, postgraduate in management from NOVA School of Business and Economics and trained in Blue Ocean Strategy by INSEAD. Simão was a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Denmark, in the integration of omics data with genome scale models. He has collaborated with University of Minho in the fields of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, with published work in computational biology top ranked journals. Consultant for international organizations in industrial biotechnology topics, Simão has an extended experience in managing in silico metabolic engineering projects for industrial biotechnology clients. He is also a board member of P-BIO, Portuguese Bioindustry Association, and Global Shaper, an initiative of the World Economic Forum.
