Dr. Wei Shen earned his medical degree in 1999 as well as a master of science in 2002 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He then received an international scholarship to study bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating in 2006 with a PhD in bioengineering, Dr. Shen joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for academic research for 3 years. Dr. Shen then completed a five-year residency program in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2014. After his residency, Dr. Shen completed a fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Shen specializes in the operative and non-operative management of all foot and ankle disorders, including but not limited to bunions, hammertoes, as well as midfoot, hindfoot, and ankle arthritis and injury.
