Biography

Seabourn Cruise Line operates 3 small luxury ships covering worldwide, exotic and remote itineraries. Medical teams consisting of full time licensed doctors and nurses work in facilities comprising consulting rooms, exam and treatment rooms, inpatient beds including ICUs, X-ray, laboratory, and dispensary. Tours of duty are approximately four months duration followed by a six-week vacation. The medical teams vary depending on the size of the ship and the itinerary but mostly consist of one doctor and two nurses. Recruitment: Doctors must have a current license to practice and at least three years postgraduate experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Critical / Intensive Care, Cardiology/Anesthetics or Remote medicine and should be in possession of valid advanced cardiac life support certificates (and preferably advanced trauma life support certificates or advanced diplomas in anesthetics / emergency care etc.). Nurses must have a current license to practice and at least five years postgraduate experience in emergency medicine, or acute care. Must hold a valid accredited ALS / ACLS certificate, prior to joining a vessel.
