Scott Asplund is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Canada Securities based in Calgary with more than 20 years of experience in capital markets and corporate finance.Mr. Asplund’s experience includes advising management, boards, lenders and shareholders on a wide variety of transactions to facilitate acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and financings. He has served clients in Canada and the U.S. across industries including energy, manufacturing, forestry, transportation, mining and construction.Leading a $150 million syndicated, asset backed facility for a large oilfield services company.   This specialized facility was used mainly for corporate acquisitions that enabled the company to focus on closing and integrating organizations with confidence.  This type of facility was also successfully used in other industries for acquisition purposes. Worked extensively with private equity firms in LBO asset acquisitions as well as restructuring bank lines.Specialized in recapitalizing mid market companies with multiple lender consolidations.Prior to joining Alvarez and Marsal, Mr. Asplund worked at GE Capital for over 17 years in various leadership and lending roles.  In his last role, he was responsible for leading a team of senior lenders throughout Western Canada.Mr. Asplund earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lethbridge, majoring in both Accounting and Finance.  He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth.
