Dr Salim Itani became chairman of board of Catafago in 1999 .Dr Itani is also chairman of board of one of the strongest wholesales company in Lebanon “The United Lebanese Pharmacists” , founded by key Lebanese pharmacists. Dr Itani was, since his graduation from Alexandria University in 1965, a very active member in the pharmacists’ community: He founded one of the leader pharmacies in Beirut sector in 1966 the “Itani pharmacy”. In 1970, he was elected member of “Pharmacy Owners Syndicate”, then vice president, syndicate general secretary and finally president. In 1987, Dr Itani was elected a member in the “Lebanese Pharmacists order” and a member of the “Pharmacists fund”. On the other hand, he is assuming his responsibilities towards his community by being an active member of the “Beirut Municipality Board” from 1998 till 2004 and from 2004 till now. He is also the president of the “Social, educational and sportive municipal board”."
