In this role, he has direct responsibility for 3M’s five business groups, along with the company’s international operations. Mike’s 29 years in a variety of roles with 3M have taken him across the United States and across the globe to Europe and Asia. He began as a senior design engineer with 3M’s Software and Electronics Resource Center in 1988, after five years with the Hughes Aircraft Company. He soon joined 3M Intelligent Transportation Systems as a laboratory manager and, later, business director. In 2001, Mike traveled to Belgium, where he spent the next two years as the European business unit director for the 3M Safety and Security Systems Division.
