Dr. Rolf Soiron served as an Interim Chief Executive Officer of Lonza Group Ltd from January 24, 2012 to April 30, 2012. Dr. Soiron served as the Managing Director of Jungbunzlauer Group from 2001 to 2003 and its Chief Executive Officer from 1993 to 2001. He began his professional career with the Sandoz Group, Basel, in 1972 where he held various positions in human resources, finance and management until 1983. He served at Sandoz Group as Chief Operating Officer and Head of pharma in Basel from 1992 to 1993. From 1983 to 1987, he served as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Protek Group (orthopedic implants) in Berne and rejoined Sandoz in 1988 as Group Vice President Agribusiness USA based in New York until 1992. Since 1992, he served as Chief Operating Officer and assumed responsibility for their global pharmaceuticals business. In 1996, he accepted a part-time role as President of the Basel University Council. Dr. Soiron has been the Chairman of the Board at Lonza Group Ltd since April 11, 2005; and Holcim (Vietnam) Ltd. since 2003. He serves as Chairman of Stratec Inc. He served as the Chairman of Holcim Vietnam and Holcim (US) Inc. He served as Chairman of Nobel Biocare Holding AG from 2003 to March 25, 2010. He served as Chairman of Holcim Ltd., since June 4, 2003 until April 29, 2014. He served as Chairman of the Board Holcim (Deutschland) AG from 2003 to April 2014. He has been an Independent Director of Lonza Group Ltd since February 2005; and Alsen AG since 1994. He serves as a Director of Jungbunzlauer Holding AG. He has been a Member of the Board of Directors at Jungbunzlauer Group, Basel since 1993. He served as a Director of Nobel Biocare Holding AG from 2003 to March 25, 2010 and Synthes Inc. since 1999. He served as Director of Holcim Ltd., since 1994 until April 29, 2014. He served as Chairman of the Basel University Council from 1995 to 2005. Dr. Soiron studied history and art history at the University of Basel, where he obtained a doctorate in philosophy in 1972 also a PhD at the Harvard Business School, in 1980.
