Roger holds a Degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast and a Masters in Manufacturing Leadership from Cambridge University. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant, having trained with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Roger joined GSK in 1998 from AstraZeneca and has worked in a number of roles within finance and manufacturing strategy, including at GSK sites at Cork in Ireland and Ware in the UK. From November 2007, he led Project Agile, establishing greater efficiency and effectiveness in the ways of working between GMS central support groups and manufacturing sites. He was then appointed Site Director at Barnard Castle in October 2008, where he led a significant transformation at the site, reducing manufacturing costs and creating more capacity through greater efficiency.
