Biography

Roger Connor is President, Global Manufacturing & Supply (GMS). He was appointed to this role in January 2013, after working for a year as President Designate, GMS. He is a member of the Corporate Executive Team. Roger drives delivery of the GMS strategy, building on the vital foundations the function has successfully established for quality, safety, sustainability and customer service.  He also has company responsibility for Product Quality, as well as Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability. Prior to his role in GMS, Roger was Vice President, Office of the CEO and Corporate Strategy from February 2010. In this role, he served as secretary to the CET, as well as having responsibility for developing the GSK long-range financial forecast, related analyses and benchmarking for CET, and integrating the key transformation initiatives that are underway across GSK. Roger joined GSK in 1998 from AstraZeneca and has worked in a number of roles within finance and manufacturing strategy, including at GSK sites at Cork in Ireland and Ware in the UK.  From November 2007, he led Project Agile, establishing greater efficiency and effectiveness in the ways of working between GMS central support groups and manufacturing sites.  He was then appointed Site Director at Barnard Castle in October 2008, where he led a significant transformation at the site, reducing manufacturing costs and creating more capacity through greater efficiency.  He holds a Degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast and a Masters in Manufacturing Leadership from Cambridge University. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant, having trained with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Roger was appointed to the Board of GSK Consumer Healthcare, our joint venture with Novartis, in April 2017.
