Biography

Rodrigo has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Brasilia-UnB (Brazil), an MBA from Michigan State University (USA). He was an executive at Eli Lilly (USA) from 1999 ‘till 2011. During these years, Rodrigo held various positions in the USA, Brazil and Colombia. His last two positions at Lilly were General Manager Colombia (approx USD 30 Mil in annual sales) and European Marketing Director for a blockbuster with over USD 1,5 Bil in annual sales. In June 2011 he returned to Brazil to work as Commercial/Sales Director for Danone´s Advanced Medical Nutrition Division (known as Nutricia in other parts of the world). In May 2014, Rodrigo was promoted to Managing Director for Nutricia's Medical Nutrition division in India. Approximately 1 year later, he was also given responsibility to lead Nutricia's Early Life Nutrition business in the country. Today, Rodrigo leads all of Danone's operations in India including its Dairy business. Rodrigo has won many marketing and sales awards during his career. In 2012 he was recognized with Nutricia's "Competitive Commercial Proposition" award for his work on Key Account mgmt. In 2009 he won Lilly's "Beat Viagra" award for developing a Pan-European disease awareness campaign that was on air (TV, Print, Digital) during 2010. In 2004 he was recognized by his peers with Lilly's "People that Made the Difference" annual award. He was also a member of the team that won a Gran Prix from ABEMD for the launch of Cialis in Brazil.
