Biography

Mr. Robert L. Parkinson, Jr., also known as Bob, serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Mr. Parkinson serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Baxter Oncology GmbH. Mr. Parkinson served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Baxter International Inc. from April 19, 2004 to January 1, 2016 and served as its Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Parkinson served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Abbott Laboratories from 1999 to 2001, where he held a variety of management and leadership positions during his 25-year tenure from 1976 to 2001. He served as an Executive Vice President of Abbott and oversaw its international operations for pharmaceutical, hospital and nutritional products, as well as the U.S.-based Ross laboratories division. He has significant operational experience, having worked his way through the management ranks at Abbott, where he joined in 1976. He held a variety of marketing and management positions there before being named Vice President of European operations at Abbott in 1990, President of the chemical and agricultural division in 1993 and President of the International Division responsible for pharmaceutical, hospital and nutritional products of Abbott in 1995. Mr. Parkinson served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Hospital Products for Abbott. He was Dean of Loyola University Chicago School of Business Administration and Graduate School of Business from 2002 to 2004. Mr. Parkinson serves as the Chairman of Baxter Oncology GmbH. He has been the Chairman Emeritus of Baxter International Inc. since January 1, 2016.
