Raymond K. Cross is a board certified Gastroenterologist and Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He also serves as Director, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and is the Chief of the Gastroenterology section at the Veterans Affairs, Maryland Health Care System Baltimore.Dr. Cross received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania, and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland and Baltimore VA Medical Centers in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was chosen as Chief Resident. He performed his Gastroenterology fellowship also at the University of Maryland and Baltimore VA Medical Centers in Baltimore. In addition, Dr. Cross has obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, in Baltimore Dr. Cross has published more than 50 articles, reviews, and abstracts regarding Ulcerative Colitis UC and Inflammatory Bowel Disease IBD. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He is the President of the Mission Committee of the Maryland and Southern Delaware Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He is a Section Editor for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and is an Ad Hoc Reviewer for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, Gastroenterology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, and the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology.
