Biography

Prof. Ravindra Fernando is the Senior Professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxology of the University of Colombo. He has received Commonwealth and WHO fellowships and worked as the Senior Lecturer in the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s St. Thomas Hospital, University of London and University of Glasgow. He was the Founder Head of the National Poisons Information Centre, National Hospital of Sri Lanka and a member of the CDDA committee of the Ministry of Health. He was also a Home Office Pathologist (England and Wales) and a Crown Office Pathologist for Scotland. He serves as the Director, Centre for the Study of Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo and the Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.
