Biography

  Rana Muhammad Arshad Iqbal is serving as Independent Director of Sitara Energy Limited and chairman Audit Committee. He is also Chief Executive officer of "DieZel Group of Companies” serving the Marine and Power Industry of Pakistan since late 90s.After graduation from Marine Academy, Juldia in 1970 and after having gained relevant sea experiences afloat he obtained the M.O.T First Class Engineer Certificate of Competency (motor ship) in 1981, issued by the Government of Pakistan.He is fellow member of Institute of Marine Engineering Science & Technology, UK, Royal Institute of Naval Architects, UK, Incorporated Engineer, Engineering Council, UK, Member, ASME and SNAME of USA and is presently holding Secretary Ship of IMarEST, & RINA, UK Pakistan joint branch. He also held Secretary Ship of Mid-East Division, Institute of Marine Engineering Science & Technology from 2010-13.He Joined Pakistan National Shipping Corporation in 1973 and later joined foreign shipping companies. He has served on passenger, cargo & oil carriers in different capacities including as Chief Engineer from 1982-86. During the course of his afloat services he was involved in ship building project and attended several refreshers and trainings courses in and outside Pakistan. To fulfill a World Bank requirement he was selected in 1986 by Karachi Port Trust as Marine Chief Engineer to look after the Voith Schneider Propelled (VSP) Tugs Flotilla and remained attached as such till 2004.
