He completed his studies at the Faculty of Electronics at Gdansk University of Technology , doctorate at the University of Gdansk . He received a Ph.D. in Habilitation Physics from the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science at the Nicolaus Copernicus University on 26 May 1997 on the basis of his dissertation on Correlation and Information-Theoretic Sizes of Quantum Nonseparability of Mixed States . The title of professor of physical sciences was received January 18, 2005.
