Pierre Mainil-Varlet, MD, PhD, MBA, Founder and Board member of Aginko has more than 15 years of experience in the development of (bio)pharmaceuticals and innovative medical technologies in international academic and industrial (bio) pharmaceutical research. He  serves as senior executive for medical research at various (bio)pharmaceutical and medical devices companies.    He has a broad experience in trial design and implementation of international multi-center Phase clinical research trials phase I, II and III as well as preclinical models for cartilage/bone repair, osteoarthritis and pain/ inflammation and neoplasia models. He has provided strategic developmental expertise covering product development planning for research, clinical trials & regulatory.    Outstanding expertise in materials, bioactives and cell based systems (somatic and stem cells) for tissue regeneration applications; medical device product development & leadership of multifunctional groups.    He is a founding member of the International Cartilage Repair Society and serves in various editorial boards. Pierre Mainil-Varlet holds an MD from the University of Brussels, a PhD from the University of Groningen and an MBA from London Business School (LBS) and a Privat Dozent in Surgical Pathology (Bern).
