Biography

Mr. Peter C. Jones was a Senior Advisor at Darby Overseas Investments, Ltd. Mr. Jones focused on the Latin America region. During the nine years prior to joining Darby in 1998, Mr. Jones held senior investment banking positions in Latin America, serving as Head of the Latin American Strategic Transactions Group of West Merchant Bank, Chief Executive Officer at Vectomex, and Head of Morgan Stanley & Co's Latin America Group in the Investment Banking area. Previously, he spent over 11 years in principal investing at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), rising from an Investment Officer to a Divisional Manager and becoming the founding Head of IFC's Corporate Finance Services Department. In this capacity, Mr. Jones had responsibility for IFC's restructuring activities in Latin America and took the lead role in the origination and structuring of a $1.6 billion debt buyout and exchange program for Femsa. Having begun his career as an Analyst-Consultant in operations research, he served as a Financial Advisor and Professor at the Universidad Javeriana. Mr. Jones serves on the Board of BRA Transportes Aéreos. He holds an M.A. in Economics from McGill University and completed advanced graduate studies in Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received the Julian Price Insurance Scholarship and the NICHD Fellowship awards. Mr. Jones also holds a B.A., with honors, in Economics and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received the UNC Academic Exchange Scholarship at the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin Colombia.
