When he was of age, he left his hometown and went to study in Porto Alegre , where he trained as an accountant. He started his activities in 1949 as managing partner, in the founding of a car body factory along with the Nicola brothers - Nicola & Cia, later renamed with the current brand, Marcopolo , named after one of the models that the company presented at the auto show in 1968. He began to occupy in 1954 the position of Managing Director and in 1971 was elected President in 1977 began to build up this position with the president of the board of directors. He left the post to Mauro Gilberto Bellini, his son, becoming president emeritus. In 1992 he received the title of Administrator of the Year, awarded by AANERGS (Association of Administrators of the Northeast Region of Rio Grande do Sul). He presided over several entities in Caxias do Sul, such as the Metallurgical, Mechanical and Electrical Material Trade Union, the Manufacturing Industry Center, the Commercial and Industrial Association and the Superior Council of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services. In 2004 he received the Medal of Knowledge from the Federal Government . He was the winner of the Top Human Being Award 2009. In 2012 he released a book recounting his memoirs, titled Marcopolo: Your Journey Begins Here .
