Paul Yeatman has worked in transducer and acoustic system design for the past 16 years. Prior to that he worked with advanced materials and has experience with manufacture of a wide range of materials, including chemical compatibility and corrosion. Paul has a B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University (then TUNS) and graduated with the Governor General’s Gold Medal for outstanding academic achievement. He joined Hermes Electronics in January 1992, reporting to Dr. Armstrong. In 1998 Paul joined Geco-Prakla and oversaw the productionisation of a new hydrophone design. He continued working for Geco on various aspects of seismic streamer development until he returned to Hermes, now Ultra Electronics, as the Manager of a new business unit called Naval Systems. Paul was in charge of a team of engineers developing towed arrays, towed active sources, moored systems, etc. In 2006 Paul joined GeoSpectrum as a partner.Paul’s experience encompasses transducer design, but primarily his expertise is complementary to Dr. Armstrong’s as a systems design expert in the field of hydroacoustics, and with experience in assembling teams of people and companies well suited to solving systems problems.
