Biography

Dr. Paul M. Karpecki, OD, FAAO, serves as Director of Research for Moyes Eye Clinic in Kansas City. Dr. Karpecki is on staff at the Koffler Vision Group in Cornea services and Ocular Disease Research. He serves as Director of Cornea Services for Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington KY, The Ocular Surface Disease Center at the Gaddie Eye Centers in Louisville KY as well as an Associate Professor at the Kentucky College of Optometry. He is also Chief Clinical Editor and Director of clinical content for Review of Optometry. He serves as Chief Medical Editor of the Review of Optometry Journal. He is a prominent voice in optometry with over 20 years of experience. He was Director for the CJO Optometric Dry Eye Guidelines for Eye Care. He served as a Scientific Advisor of TearLab Corporation. He served as the President of the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology, Chairman of the AOA Topical Interest Group in Refractive Surgery. He serves as a Member of the Clinical Advisory Board at MacuLogix, Inc. He has been Independent Director of TearLab Corporation since March 2010 and also served as its Member of Clinical Advisory Board. Dr. Karpecki lectured in over 400 symposia covering four continents and was invited to participate in both the Delphi International Society at Wilmer- John's Hopkins that includes the top 25 Dry Eye Disease ("DED") experts in the world and the National Eye Institute's DED committee. A noted educator and author, Dr. Karpecki has provided over 1,000 lectures at various meetings domestically and internationally covering 4 continents. He completed a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Hunkeler Eye Centers in affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now Salus University) in 1994.
