He being the director of RFBR, directs the work of the Foundation and the Office of the Foundation Board;holds meetings of the Board of Foundation;ensures the achievement of main objective of the Foundation activities in accordance with the present Charter;approves estimates of income and expenses of the Foundation in accordance with the decisions of the Board of Foundation, Office of the Foundation Board and the present Charter;represents the Foundation in Government bodies as well as in organizations;is personally responsible for the Foundation activities.Beside this, he is honoured Worker of Science of the Russian Federation,Cavalier of the Order of Friendship, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, Laureate of the Russian Federation National Award in Science and Technology, SPIE (the International Society for Optics and Photonics) fellow, UNESCO Medal “For contributions to the development of nanoscience and nanotechnologies”, Sign of the Governor of Moscow region "For useful".
