As President of SEMI Japan, Osamu Nakamura has full responsibility for SEMI operations and oversees development of the association’s programs, committees, products, and services in the region. He is responsible for relationships with SEMI members as well as with representatives of industry, government, academia, and other local constituencies. He is additionally charged with supporting SEMI members worldwide who have interests in SEMICON Japan, the region's premier microelectronics event. Nakamura has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment business. Prior positions include Managing Director, President and CEO for Hitachi High Technologies, Singapore, and other executive roles in semiconductor equipment business operations in the US and Germany.
Nakamura has served on the SEMI Japan Regional Advisory Board and was elected to the SEMI International Board of Directors, a position he vacated to become President of SEMI Japan. He holds a BSEE from Waseda University.
