Biography

Elizabeth Nabel, M.D., has been president of Brigham Health, hospitals and physician organizations operating inpatient and outpatient facilities, clinics, primary care health centers, and diagnostic and treatment technologies, research laboratories, and postgraduate medical and scientific education and training programs, as well as Harvard Medical School’s second largest teaching affiliate. Dr. Nabel has also been a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School since 2010. Prior to that, Dr. Nabel held a variety of roles, including director, at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health, a federal agency funding research, training, and education programs to promote the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases, from 1999 to 2009.
