Mr. Nissanka Perera joined the company as Chief Executive Officer / Director on 1st October 2010. He holds a BSc. Engineering degree from the University of Moratuwa and a Diploma in Hydraulic Engineering from the International Institute of Hydraulic Engineering, Delft, The Netherlands. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka and a Chartered Engineer. Mr. Nissanka Perera counts over 30 years of experience in the field of Coastal Engineering. He began his career after graduating from the University of Moratuwa as a Civil Engineer, by joining the Coast Conservation Department in 1979, and rose up to be its first Director General. His numerous responsibilities included being Project Director for the Coastal Resources Management Project – a 95 Million US$ (funded by the ADB). He was responsible for the successful implementation of this project, which included coastal stabilization schemes, fisheries harbours, shore facilities, coastal and lagoon conservation and resource management. He was also Project Director until his retirement, of the proposed Fisheries Harbour Development Project in Dikkowita.
