Dr. Mirian M. Graddick-Weir, Ph.D., has been an Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Merck & Co., Inc. since 2008. Dr. Graddick-Weir served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources of Merck & Co., Inc. from September 2006 to January 2008. She served as an Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Employee Communications of AT&T Corp., from 2004 to 2006 and served as its Executive Vice President of Human Resources from March 1999 to 2004. Dr. Graddick-Weir was responsible for the design, planning and administration of all Human Resources functions including compensation, benefits, recruiting and training for AT&T's 47,000 employees. Dr. Graddick-Weir served as the Chief Human Resources Officer of Consumer Services Company from 1998 to 1999. She served as a Vice President of Human Resources and Business Effectiveness from at&T Corp., 1996 to 1998 and served as its Vice President of Human Resources from 1995 to 1996. She served as Vice President of Multimedia Products and Executive HR at&T Corp., from 1994 to 1995 and served as its Director of Customer Service and Consumer Communications Services from 1991 to 1993. She served as a Director of Human Resources of International Communications Services at&T Corp., from 1989 to 1991 and served as its Special Assistant to the Vice Chairman from 1988 to 1989 and Corporate Human Resources from 1981 to 1988. She joined AT&T in 1981. She leads human resources for one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the world and has a demonstrated leadership capability and distinguished career. She has been Independent Director of Yum! Brands, Inc. since January 26, 2012. She serves on the Boards of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, the National Medical Fellowships Inc., Harleysville Group Insurance Company, Human Resources Policy Association and the National Academy of Human Resources. She serves as a Member of the Personnel Round Table and the Cowdrick Group. Dr. Graddick-Weir served as a Director at Harleysville Group Inc from February 2000 to May 1, 2012. In 2003, the Society of Psychologists in Management named Dr. Graddick-Weir, the Distinguished Psychologist in Management award recipient. In 2001 she was named a Fellow to the National Academy of Human Resources. In 2001, she was named "HR Executive of the Year" by HR Executive magazine. In 1990, Dr. Graddick-Weir received AT&T's Catherine B. Cleary Management Award 'Woman of the Year", which is given to a Senior Manager who exemplifies excellence in leadership and management. Dr. Graddick-Weir received her B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University in 1976, M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Penn State in 1978 and Ph.D. from Penn State in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 1981.
