Biography

Mark W. Gesell, MD, FACS, is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic surgery, degenerative joint disease, and revision joint replacement. Dr. Gesell joined Professional Orthopaedic Associates in 2011. After completing his bachelor’s degree in human biology at Stanford University in Stanford, California, Dr. Gesell went on to earn his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago in Maywood, Illinois. Thereafter, he completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After completing his residency, Dr. Gesell underwent fellowship training in adult reconstruction and joint reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York.
