Dr. Marijn E. Dekkers, Ph.D., served as the Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer at Bayer Aktiengesellschaft from October 1, 2010 to April 30, 2016. Dr. Dekkers has over 30 years of experience driving high-value business growth in competitive industries. He served as a Member of Management Board of Bayer AG from January 2010 to April 30, 2016. He served as a Member of Management Board of Bayer Pharma AG since January 1, 2010. Dr. Dekkers served as the Chief Executive Officer of Bayer HealthCare AG since October 1, 2010. He also served as an Interim Head of Bayer HealthCare subgroup from May 1 to August 14, 2010. In 1988, he returned to the corporate research center to become Head of polymer materials research. After that, he held further management positions in various polymers units of GE. He served as the Head of the Subgroup at Bayer HealthCare AG from April 2010 to October 1, 2010, Chairman of the Board of Management until August 2010 and also served as its Member of the board of management since January 1, 2010. Dr. Dekkers served as the Chief Executive Officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. at FIBERLite Centrifuge LLC and NanoDrop Technologies, LLC from November 2002 to October 15, 2009, President from July 2000 to October 15, 2009. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Thermo Electron Corporation, an affiliate of Thermo NITON Analyzers LLC and InnaPhase Corporation since November 2002. He joined Thermo Electron in July 2000 and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer from July 2000 to November 2002. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of InnaPhase Corp., from July 2000 to November 2002. He served as the President of electronic materials division at Honeywell International Inc. from June 1999 to July 2000. Dr. Dekkers served as Vice President and General Manager of fluorine products division at Honeywell International Inc. from August 1997 to May 1999. From July 1995 to July 1997, he served as Vice President and General Manager of specialty films division at Honeywell. He began his career as a Research Scientist within General Electric's corporate R&D center in Schenectady, New York. From 1985 to 1995, he served various operating positions within GE in both the United States and Europe.
