Professor Marcin Majka is Head of the Department of Transplantation at Jagiellonian University. He graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the University Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. From 1997 to 2003, he worked in laboratories in the United States, first at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, then at the University of Louisville in Louisville.
Prof. Majka is an expert in the field of stem cell biology. He participated in several clinical researches on the use of stem cells in the treatment of spinal cord injury, brain injury, graft against host disease. He participated in national and international research projects in the field of stem cells, including European Union programmes.
