Dr. Maarten Kraan brings more than 25 years of experience working as a leader in scientific research across many therapeutics areas. Most recently, Dr. Kraan spent six years at AstraZeneca, as the Senior Vice President, Head of Innovative Medicines Respiratory and Inflammation. Prior to this role, Dr. Kraan was Vice President, Head of Clinical Research and Experimental Development Inflammation at Hoffman – La Roche. He has also previously served as the Vice President, Immunosciences at Bristol Myers Squibb where he led the Immunoscience group in supporting the commercialization of products such as abatacept and belatacept. Dr. Kraan began his pharmaceutical career at Schering Plough, holding roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Global Medical Director Immunology, Global Medical Affairs. He also held numerous academic, editorial and hospital positions before entering the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Kraan currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Goteborg University (Sweden) and received his Ph.D. in immunology and M.D. from Leiden University (Netherlands).
