Lavino Francesco joined Nabriva Therapeutics in July 2017 bringing nearly two decades of pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience. The last half of his career has been focused on anti-infective medications administered primarily in the hospital setting. He most recently served as AVP, Global Brand Leader Anti-Infective Portfolio at Merck & Co. Inc. (known as MSD outside the United States), where he was responsible for the development and implementation of the global marketing strategy for the whole Merck anti-bacterial portfolio. Prior to this role, Francesco was VP International Marketing for the Anti-Infectives Portfolio at Cubist Pharmaceuticals and previous roles at Merck included global brand leadership for the company’s antifungal portfolio and, before, he held positions in marketing and sales both at regional and country level. Francesco began his career in pharmaceutical sales at UCB Pharma and 3M in Italy. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Pharmacy from the Federico II University of Napoli, Italy and an MBA from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan, Italy
