Breifly, I am trying to understand the biology of Stem Cell Behavior Stem cells play critical roles in organogenesis and regeneration whilst replenishing the stem cell pool. Signals that trigger the fate of stem cells and their progeny remain largely undefined. While intrinsic cues define cell fates, extrinsic factors such as extracellular matrix and components that make up the niche, are also critical in governing cell fate choices. To understand how tissues form during development and regeneration, I aim to obtain an integrated view of muscle stem cell properties and behaviour in distinct physiological contexts.
