He also joined the founding group of the association Generacin Empresarial Mexicana (Managerial Generation of Mexico). He joined the board of the Consejo de la Comunicacin (government sponsored council to promote integrity and honesty in Mexico) and since June 21, 2004, has held the presidency of the council. He served as an Independent Director of Grupo Sanborns, S.A.B. de C.V. He serves as a Member of The Board of Directors of Sears Mexico. He served as a Director of Banco Ve por Más, SA, Institución de Banca Múltiple and Grupo Financiero Ve por Más. In March 2008, the World Economic Forum elected Mr. Beckmann Legorreta as Young Global Leader, an award granted each year to recognize and acknowledge the 200 top young leaders from around the world for their professional accomplishments and commitment to society. He has served on the board of directors of Acciones y Valores, S.A. He attended the Senior Management Program at the Instituto Panamericano en Alta Dirección in Mexico City and the Executive Development Program at Columbia University in New York.
