Dr. Jørgen Thorball serves as Corporate Strategic Advisor at Novozymes. Dr. Thorball joined Novozymes in 2001. He serves as President of Business Development at Novozymes. He served as Managing Director of Copenhagen University Hospital since 1990. He served as Product Manager of Kabi Pharmacia, Denmark since 1990. He owns a business development company, Medico Care, since 1985. Dr. Thorball also has significant industrial experience in Advertising, ranging from owning an advertisement and public relations bureau, buying of advertisements and PR accounts, to designing/redesigning and execution of several corporate identities. He served as an International Product Manager of Pharmacia, Sweden since 1992. He served as International Marketing and Development Associate at Pharmacia Corporation (Pfizer) and Pharmacia, Sweden & Portugal since 1994. He served as Corporate Associate of Pharmacia Upjohn since 1995. He served as Business Manager of Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, Denmark & Iceland since 1996. Dr. Thorball has a background as a Physician and 18 years of experience from a number of international positions in pharmaceutical and biotech companies such as Sanofi-Aventis and Pharmacia. He founded BioGaia HealthCare Sweden in 1997 and from 1999 to 2001, he was responsible for BioGaia Health Care in Lund and laid the foundation for part of BioGaia's current product portfolio. He served as Vice President of Business Development at Novozymes from 2001 to 2007. He has been an initiative-taker for more than 25 enterprises and organizations and is known as a visionary and debater in the areas of innovation and modern leadership. He is founder of the BiotechBuilders network and co-founder of the Danish Innovation Council and Gazelle Growth. He Co-founded ViroGates A/S in 2001. He serves as Chairman of iMotions - Emotion Technology A/S, Alsensa ApS, Vivolution, Lina Medical and C4-world. He served as the Chairman of ViroGates A/S from 2001 to 2015. He serves as a Director of ViroGates A/S. Dr. Thorball served as Director of BioGaia AB since May 2008. He serves as a Member of the Board of six small private enterprises, ViorGates A/S, Imotions A/S, Lina-Medical A/S, MyC4.com A/S and Alsensa A/S. He served as Director of Vivostat A/S, since 2007. He served as Director of BioGaia HealthCare, Sweden since 1997. He served as a Board Member of ViroGates Aps. He is an Inventor and patent-owner of several medical applications, among them an internet-based alert system for people with allergies in 1996, and various clinical delivery systems in 1995,1999 and 2001. He has recently published two books on these subjects and also teaches in an M.B.A. programme. Dr. Thorball holds an MD from Copenhagen University Hospital in 1990. He holds a BA in Psychology and Psychiatry.
