Josef von Rickenbach is Chairman and CEO of PAREXEL. Mr. von Rickenbach was twice Chairman of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) and was a founding member of the ACRO Board of Directors. Mr. von Rickenbach was named Executive of the Year in North America in the seventh annual International Business Awards, which celebrate managerial excellence worldwide. He serves on the Board of Directors of the NEHI (Network for Excellence in Health Innovation) and on the Health Policy and Management Executive Council of the Harvard School of Public Health. Additionally, he is a Vice Chair of CEOs Against Cancer, sponsored by the American Cancer Society New England Chapter, and serves on the Board of Advisors for the San Francisco-based Life Sciences Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history of biotechnology. He also has a long-standing association with the Biomedical Science Careers Program. He joined its Board in 1998 and was appointed Vice President in 2013. After beginning his career with Schering-Plough, Mr. von Rickenbach held positions with ENSECO (formerly ERCO). He holds a B.A. in Business Economics from the School of Business at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
