Jose T. Pardo was elected as an independent director of JGSHI on August 6, 2003. He is presently the Chairman of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines, Philippine Savings Bank, Bank of Commerce, and Electronic Commerce Payment Networks, Inc. (ECPay). He is also a director of National GRID Corporation of the Philippines, and ZNN Radio Veritas. He also held positions in government as former Secretary of the Department of Finance and former Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Accounting and his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the De La Salle University.
