Dr. John Quackenbush, Ph.D. is a co-Founder of GenoSpace, LLC and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Quackenbush serves as an Advisor at Rose Ventures, Inc. Dr. Quackenbush serves as Professor, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Harvard School of Public Health He served as Professor of Cancer Biology and Professor of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the Department of Biostatistics, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Quackenbush served positions at The Salk Institute, Stanford University and The Institute for Genomic Research. Dr. Quackenbush' research group focuses on methods spanning the laboratory to the laptop that are designed to use genomic and computational approaches to reveal the underlying biology. He serves as Chairman of GenoSpace, LLC. Dr. Quackenbush is an investigator in Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics at The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) in Rockville, Maryland, where his work focused on the use of genomic and computational methods for the study of human disease and a recognized authority on Microarray analysis and bioinformatics. Dr. Quackenbush’s research team is also responsible for a number of widely used databases and software tools, including the TM4 Microarray software system. He serves as a Member to two National Research Council panels examining the applications of genomic approaches to the study of toxicology. He serves as Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Caris Life Sciences, Inc. He serves as a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board at Genexp Biosciences Inc., Personalized Cancer Therapy, Inc. and Parabase Genomics, Inc. Dr. Quackenbush served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Exosome Diagnostics, Inc. and Helicos BioSciences Corporation. He serves on Editorial boards of five major journals and Editor-in-Chief at Genomics. He served for four-years as a Standing Member of the NIH GCAT Study Section. Dr. Quackenbush has been widely recognized as a pioneer in the area of biological data management, analysis and interpretation. He served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Inc. He served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at DermTech, Inc. (alternate name, DermTech International) since October 10, 2007. In 2009, Dr. Quackenbush launched the Center for Cancer Computational Biology (CCCB), a Dana-Farber Strategic Plan Center focused on providing computational support more broadly to the DFCI research community. He served in Postdoctoral Fellowship in experimental high energy physics, experimental particle physics and phenomenology at UCLA for two years. Dr. Quackenbush completed a Ph.D. in Theoretical Particle Physics in 1990 from UCLA, He also holds a B.S. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology.
