John Marshall, M.D., joined Caris Life Sciences in May 2017 and currently serves as Chief Medical Officer. He directs the company’s oncology research efforts via the Caris Research Institute™ and guides clinical strategies for innovative precision medicine tools and tumor profiling services, while continuing to serve as Chairman of the Precision Oncology Alliance™ on behalf of Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Marshall is the Associate Director for Clinical Care for the Georgetown Lombardi and the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He is also the founding Director of Georgetown Lombardi’s Otto J. Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancer, which is dedicated to realizing the dream of individualized curative therapies through research, care and advocacy. Dr. Marshall is widely published and has been the principal investigator for more than 150 clinical trials. His medical training included a medical oncology fellowship at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, and internal medicine residency and internship at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Marshall received his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine after receiving his BS in psychology from Duke University.
