Joe Mastrangelo is the president and chief executive officer of Gas Power Systems for GE Power, overseeing global operations of GE’s heady-duty and aeroderivative gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, gas engines for power generation and gas compression and controls businesses. GE’s Power Generation business has the largest delivered fleet of gas turbines as well as gas engines for combined heat and power, in the world with more than 7,400 turbines operating in 112 countries, and a manufacturing footprint in the Americas, Europe, and Asia to serve its global customers. Joe assumed this role in September 2015 and is based in Schenectady, New York. Over the past 16 years, Joe built broad operating experience across the energy value chain, leading mechanical and electrical technology businesses. Prior to this role, Joe was CEO of GE's Power Conversion business, which applies the science and systems of power conversion, including process controls, automation systems and high-efficiency power electronics, motors and generators, to help increase the efficiency of the world's energy infrastructure. Joe also spent 10 years with GE Oil & Gas, in a progression of leadership roles in finance, quality, and commercial operations, culminating in being named a GE Corporate Officer in 2008 while leading GE’s Turbomachinery business. Joe began his career with GE in 1993 through the company’s Financial Management Program, after which he joined GE's Corporate Audit Staff, where he held a series of global assignments, including a two-year role as an executive audit manager in Fairfield, Connecticut. Joe was born in Harrison, New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Clarkson University and holds an Associate in Science in business administration from Westchester Community College in New York. He and his wife Marta have two children.
