Dr Jerzy FrÄ…czek is a graduate of the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where he obtained his M.Sc. in Biology with a specialization in Molecular Biology. His M.Sc. dissertation was prepared in the Department of Immunology. During the PhD program, between 2004 and 2007, he was an exchange research fellow in the Lerner Research Institute, CCF in Cleveland, USA. He obtained his PhD degree at the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology, Jagiellonian University in Krakow in 2009.
Jerzy FrÄ…czek has broad interest in the impact of lymphocytes undergoing the process of apoptosis initiated by photodynamic therapy on monocytes, studying intracellular signaling pathways leading from the Interleukin 1 receptor and he studied mechanisms responsible for the initiation of the immune type 2 response in the asthma model and the cell subpopulations involved in it.
