Jay provides leadership and oversight for all of the company’s development, project/program management, planning and facilities management efforts on new construction and renovations within the United States and internationally. As founder and president, Jay is also responsible for HBS’ operations and manages all departmental directors. HBS was founded by Jay and he has grown the company primarily through repeat sole-source contracts with his clients and word-of-mouth referrals. Throughout his 22-year career in healthcare construction, Jay has been responsible for the oversight of more than one-billion dollars of major healthcare projects for some of the largest healthcare systems in the country, including 14 Greenfield hospital projects. Prior to starting HBS, Jay served as the Vice President of Development for MedCath, where he was responsible for the development and expansion of 14 hospitals. He also was the Assistant Vice President of Design & Construction at Universal Health Services where he was employed for 10 years until 2006. Jay received his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Temple University in 1993. He is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager through the American Hospital Association.
