Jay Engh began his career at Estes working on sales and estimating in the 1980s. He left the company for a few years to pursue a career as a project engineer at Major Tool & Machine until 1990. He then returned to Estes and worked as a sales engineer until 1998 when he joined the engineering department. He took over as department head in 2005.
