Biography

Jack is a native of Georgia and was active in Future Farmers of America during high school, serving as a state officer. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Animal Science. He spent 18 years farming a diversified operation including dairy, hogs, and row crops. The following 13 years were spent as regional manager for DeLaval Inc. (manufacturer of dairy farm equipment) Jack moved to a position in the DeLaval Market Development division working all of the US, Canada, and Mexico and remained there for over 5 years. Jack has three children, and nine grandchildren, and currently lives on a farm in Jackson County that boards horses, sells hay and raises beef cattle. Jack came to the Georgia Department of Agriculture as director of the marketing division February of 2011. Jack and his wife Ada are members of the Auburn First Baptist Church.
