Mr. J. Scott Kirby has been President of United Airlines, Inc. and United Continental Holdings, Inc. since August 2016. Mr. Kirby served as the President of American Airlines, Inc. since December 2013 until September 2, 2016. Mr. Kirby served as the President of American Airlines Group Inc. since December 09, 2013 until August 29, 2016. Mr. Kirby's responsibilities include planning, marketing, sales, alliances, pricing/yield management and operations. He served as the President of US Airways Group, Inc. and US Airways Inc. since October 1, 2006. He was responsible for revenue management, information technologies, scheduling/planning, marketing, sales, alliances, distribution and reservations of New US Airways Group. He served as an Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at US Airways, LLC since September 2001. He served as an Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at America West Airlines Inc. ('AWA'), a subsidiary company of America West Holdings Corporation and US Airways Group, Inc. from September 2001 to October 1, 2006. Mr. Kirby joined AWA as Senior Director of Schedules & Planning in October 1995. In October 1997, he was elected to the position of Vice President of Planning and in May 1998, he was elected to the position of Vice President of Revenue Management of AWA. Since January 2000, he served as Senior Vice President of E-Business and Technology at America West Holdings Corporation and AWA. Prior to joining America West, Mr. Kirby served as an Operations Research Consultant for Sabre Decision Technologies (SDT), a subsidiary of AMR Corp. During his three-year tenure at SDT, he consulted with various airlines in Europe and the United States regarding scheduling and yield management. He served as an Economist in the Under Secretary of Defense- Program Acquisition and Evaluation Office at the Pentagon. He has been a Director of Sonifi Solutions, Inc. (alternate name, LodgeNet Interactive Corporation) since August 2008. Mr. Kirby earned Bachelor degrees in Computer science and Operations research from the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from George Washington University.
