Iain works with a range of clients including universities, spin outs, large biotech companies and overseas attorney firms. He has provided assistance to clients at various stages in their development – from early days through to flotation. As well as attending to patent drafting and prosecution, he is able to offer guidance on portfolio management across various jurisdictions, and assessment of other parties’ rights, including freedom to operate issues. Iain joined HGF in 2010, having previously spent 10 years with a large firm of patent attorneys, where he qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney. Iain holds a first class honours degree in Cell Biology from the University of Glasgow, UK and pursued postgraduate research into anti-scarring therapies and the generation of new blood vessels at the University of Manchester, UK.
