Hester is a pharmacokineticist and toxicologist with special focus on DMPK and (pre-)clinical PK/PD. She has over 12 years of experience in preclinical and clinical drug development, working in multidisciplinary teams as project leader responsible for clinical development plans and protocols for clinical trials, design and execution of preclinical experiments, and translational model development. After obtaining a Masters degree on technology, toxicology and epidemiology at Wageningen University, and a PhD in toxicology at Utrecht University, she worked at Merck & Co. (MSD) on preclinical DMPK and on clinical PK/PD. She recently served as Director PK/PD at ProQR Therapeutics, a Dutch public preclinical biotech company focused on RNA therapeutics in rare diseases.
