Giovanni Latella, born in S.Bartolomeo in Galdo (BN), Italy, on March 22,1957. Degree in Medicine in 1982, Specialization in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy in 1986 at University of Rome "La Sapienza". From 1990 to 1993 Professor of Coloproctology and since 1994, Researcher and Professor of Gastroenterology at University of LAquila. In 1997/98, sabbatical year in USA for study and research. Main scientific areas of interest: inflammatory bowel diseases, metabolism and proliferation of colorectal epithelium, intestinal fibrosis.
