Biography

Gilles Thirion is a Researcher in the Economic Policy Unit. Prior to joining CEPS he was a Junior Professional Associate at the World Bank (Washington, DC) within the Macroeconomic and Fiscal Global Practice, focusing on Latin America. He also worked for the European Commission’s DG for Economic and Financial Affairs (ECFIN), first at the Spain country desk, and later with the Economic Situation and Forecast team. He was educated at the London School of Economics (LSE) where he graduated with an MSc in Political Economy, and he obtained an MSc Economics from the University of Tilburg. Gilles is fluent in English and Spanish, and is a native French speaker. His main areas of interest are in the fields of EU Political Economy, International Macroeconomics, Development, and socio-economic analysis.
