She holds three doctorates – in physics, human biology and medicine – and was appointed Professor of Medicine at l’Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris in 2006. Her previous positions include Professor and Hospital Practitioner at l’Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris; Director of the Biotech and Agri-Food Department; Head of the Technology Directorate at the French Ministry of Research and Technology; Director General, at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique; and Chairman of the Health Advisory Board of the EU Commission. Other appointments In May 2015, Geneviève was appointed as a Director of Air Liquide S.A. for a term of four years. She is currently Chief Research Officer at Firmenich SA, Geneva, Switzerland.
